Chargé d’ Affaires a.i. U Thein Min Htun Convenes the 3rd ASEAN–Pretoria Committee (APC) Heads of Mission Meeting and Hands Over the Rotating Chairmanship to the High Commissioner of Singapore

U Thein Min Htun, Chargé d’ Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Pretoria, in his capacity as the Rotating Chair of the ASEAN–Pretoria Committee (APC), convened the 3rd ASEAN–Pretoria Committee Heads of Mission Meeting on 6 January 2026 at 11:45 a.m. at Shun De Restaurant, Time Square Menlyn, Pretoria.

The meeting was attended by Heads of Mission and representatives of ASEAN diplomatic missions accredited to the Republic of South Africa. During the meeting, participants reviewed and discussed the activities and initiatives undertaken by the ASEAN–Pretoria Committee (APC) during Myanmar’s tenure as Rotating Chair, covering the second half of 2025 from 1 July 2025 to 6 January 2026. The discussion also focused on the Committee’s engagement and interactions with the Government of the Republic of South Africa, relevant government departments, and private sector organizations.

Following the review and deliberations, U Thein Min Htun formally handed over the Rotating Chairmanship of the ASEAN–Pretoria Committee for the first half of 2026 to the High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore.

Upon conclusion of the meeting, U Thein Min Htun hosted a luncheon in honour of the Heads of Mission and representatives in attendance.
